The Complex Map

An interactive mandala for the Complex Map — the Jungian working document that tracks which complexes are constellating, where they sit relative to the ego, and how that arrangement shifts over time.

The way in is a nine-step guided process rather than a form. It borrows the S.E.W. sequence — Sensations, Emotions, Wants — adapted from Julia Colwell, Ph.D. at the Evolutionary Power Institute. You tell a story until the body interrupts, stay with the sensation that calls loudest, cycle through whatever emotions rise, and arrive at a want. Then you speak an unarguable truth — a statement reporting only sensation, feeling, and want, which no one can argue with. Only after that do you name the figure, draw it or photograph a paper drawing, choose its archetypal core, and place it on the circle.

Each complex is placed by two coordinates. Sector is its archetypal core — Persona, Father, Senex, Trickster, Shadow, Mother, Anima·Animus, Puer·Puella. Distance from center is integration: still projected onto others sits outside the gold ring, recognized moves inward, in dialogue closer still, integrated nearest the ego. Lines between nodes carry the relations — alliance, masking, opposition.

The quarterly buttons at the bottom step through snapshots. That sequence, not any single drawing, is the actual map: the Auditor walking from 0.72 to 0.46 over three quarters is the finding, not its position today.

Select any complex to read its record — its latest unarguable truth, affect signature, constellating triggers, voice, origin, and the compensatory function it serves against the ego’s one-sidedness.

Everything is stored locally in your own browser and never leaves the device; there is no account and no server. “Explore a sample first” walks a fictional three-complex map without saving anything. “Load data” accepts a Complex Map JSON document, and “Erase map” clears the record entirely.
